Ghùch Tlâ Joins FNSB

Ghùch Tlâ Community School in Carcross will join the First Nations School Board starting in the 2023-24 academic year. 

Voters elected to join the FNSB with a vote of 34 in favour and 13 against. 

Advanced voting was held between February 16 and 23, with two in-person voting days held at the school on Saturday, February 25 and Monday, February 27.

Ghùch Tlâ Community School was one of three schools which voted to join the board. It will be joined by Eliza Van Bibber School in Pelly Crossing and Kluane Lake School in Destruction Bay. 

Faro's Del Van Gorder School did not meet the voter threshold required to join the board and will remain with the Yukon's Department of Education.
